Purpose
A facility is the borrowing or lending line agreed with a counterparty: the committed amount, the period it runs for, the lines (tranches) it can be drawn under, and the fees payable on it. Recording facilities in the Ripple Treasury Platform gives you one place to see how much of each line is committed, drawn, and still available, so drawdowns are checked against a live limit instead of a spreadsheet.
A facility record holds:
Facility Details: Counterparty, business unit, currency, limit, and dates.
Tranches: Individual lines available under the facility, each with its own limit, margin, and default rate basis.
Drawdowns: Deals booked against a tranche, which consume the limit.
Fees: Commitment and utilization fees, held at facility level, tranche level, or both.
Custom Fields and Attachments: Your own data points and the supporting documents behind the facility.
The facility sets the outer limit. Tranches sit under it, drawdowns sit under the tranches, and the platform measures used and unused amounts up that chain.

Manage Attachments
Attach the signed agreement, term sheet, or amendment letter to the facility. Attachments stay with the record, so the evidence behind a limit is available to anyone reviewing it.

Delete Facilities
Facilities can only be deleted before deals are drawn against them.
After drawing tranches or facility fees against a facility, don’t attempt to delete the facility. Instead, let it run off or shorten its maturity. If historic deals must be re-pointed to a new deal, it must be done by Ripple Treasury Support.

Monitor Facility Utilization
The Facility Usage Report (Reporting > Treasury > Facility Usage Report) lets you monitor your facility and tranche utilization. The report has one row per facility and tranche, with the limit, drawdown usage, guarantee usage, total used, unused, and used percentage, plus the same figures converted to your reporting currency. You can switch report type between facility, tranche, and counterparty. The report converts to a reporting currency so you can compare lines held in different currencies and see total headroom across counterparties.
Facility Field Descriptions
Details

Field descriptions with an asterisk (*) are required.
Fields:
*
Name: Recognizable name that identifies the facility everywhere else in the platform.Description: A free-format description of the facility.Facility Type: Sets whether debt, guarantees, or both can be drawn under the facility.Syndicated: Whether the facility is provided by a syndicate (group of lenders that funds one facility together). Switches the counterparty field betweenCounterpartyandPrincipal Counterparty. Syndicated facilities allow you to select multiple counterparties for tranches so you can record individual participant shares.CounterpartyorPrincipal Counterparty: The issuer of a borrowing facility, or the recipient of a lending facility. The principal counterparty is the lead party on a syndicated facility.Business Unit: Your own entity on the facility. Defaults onto each tranche, where it stays editable.Borrowing or Lending: Mark the direction of the facility.Limit Type: Determines how the platform monitors limits and the amount available.Fixed: The sum of the tranche limits must not exceed the facility limit. Each tranche gets its own carved-out slice.Automatic: The facility limit expands to equal the sum of its tranche limits. This is useful for uncommitted lines you still want to report on.Fixed Shared: One pool limit. Each tranche limit individually may be up to the full facility limit (the sum may exceed it), but total live utilization across all tranches is checked against the single facility limit. When a drawdown is captured, Available Amount = Facility Limit - Utilization of All Other Tranches - Utilization of This Tranche.
*
Base Ccy: The currency of the facility. Keep every tranche in this currency, and use one facility per currency. If you include tranches with a different currency, Ripple Treasury stops calculating facility utilization and skips the facility-level breach validation.
*
Fixed Limit Amount: The committed amount of the facility. Editable for a fixed or fixed shared limit.*
Deal Date: The date the facility was agreed. Defaults to today, and can be backdated to load historical facilities.*
Start Date: The date from which the facility is available. Defaults to the deal date.Term: The period the facility runs for, expressed in days (d), weeks (w), months (m), or years (y). Entering a term calculates the maturity date, and changing the maturity date recalculates the term.*
Maturity Date: The date the facility matures. Calculated from the start date and term, and can be overwritten.
Custom Fields

Custom fields allow for the capture of text, numeric, yes/no, or special data that is specific to your organization. The special data can be selected from a drop-down list. Custom fields can be grouped, with the group name used as a heading at the time of capturing the facility. Custom fields are managed in Common Data > Portfolio Management > Custom Fields.
If Custom Fields have been created, enter the data for each field defined. Changes can be made to custom fields at any time during the life cycle of the facility.
To enter data:
Select the
Valuecolumn for the field.Enter the data.
Select anywhere off the field.
Select
Saveto save the facility. Your changes are saved at the same time as the facility.
Tranches

This tab lets you attach tranche fees to the facility. A facility is the overall agreement and its total limit; tranches are the usable lines inside it. You draw on a tranche, and each drawdown consumes both the tranche's limit and the facility's. All tranches must have the same currency as you set up in the Details tab. If you include tranches with a different currency, Ripple Treasury stops calculating facility utilization and skips the facility-level breach validation.

A tranche with drawdowns against it can’t be removed from your reporting history. Instead, let the line run off or shorten its maturity. Remove a tranche without drawdowns:

Fees

This tab lets you attach fees directly to the facility instead of to individual tranches. For example, commitment fees make most sense attached to the facility, whereas utilization fees are more likely to be attached at a tranche level.
